SEO · Ottawa

Show up when Ottawa searches for you.

No jargon, no monthly report full of numbers that mean nothing. Just the work that gets a small business found by people nearby who are ready to buy.

Most SEO sold to small businesses is either vague or dishonest. Somebody promises page one, sends a monthly report full of charts, and nothing in the business changes.

Here is the honest version of how this works.

Ranking depends entirely on what people type

"Number one on Google" is not one thing. Ranking for your own business name is easy — nobody else wants it. Ranking for something broad like "marketing agency" is a fight against companies with ten-year-old websites and budgets to match.

The winnable ground is in the middle, and it is where the buyers are: the specific thing somebody types when they have a problem and money to fix it. "Emergency plumber Nepean." "How much does a bathroom reno cost in Ottawa." Fewer people search those. Almost all of them are ready to hire.

What actually moves the needle

1. Your Google Business Profile

For anything with "near me" in it, the map box sits above every normal search result. It is free, it is separate from your website, and reviews are what rank you inside it. For most local businesses this single thing beats everything else combined.

2. A page for each thing you sell

One page cannot rank for six services. Google needs a page per thing, each with its own title and real content on it. This is the most common reason a decent-looking small business site gets no traffic — it says everything on one page and therefore ranks for nothing.

3. Content that answers real questions

Not "10 tips" posts. Nobody needs another one and Google now actively pushes them down. What works is the straight answer to the question your customer types before they are ready to call — including the one about price that everyone else avoids.

4. Links from other real websites

The hardest part, and the most powerful. Local directories, your suppliers, your industry bodies, businesses you work with. Slow, unglamorous, and worth more than everything else on this list.

An honest timeline. A new website takes roughly six to twelve months to earn real traffic from Google, no matter who does the work or what they charge. Anyone telling you otherwise is selling something. SEO is what you start now so it pays you next year — it should sit alongside the things that bring customers this month, not replace them.

What we do

  • Set up and fill out your Google Business Profile properly, as a service area or a storefront, whichever you actually are
  • Build a real page for each service you sell, aimed at what people search
  • Write content that answers your buyers' actual questions
  • Handle the technical side — titles, structured data, sitemaps, speed
  • Set up Search Console so you can see what you rank for, instead of taking our word for it

What it costs

SEO is quoted per project, because a one-page site and a thirty-page site are not the same job. It also pairs naturally with a website build — it is much cheaper to build the pages right the first time than to retrofit them later.

Common questions

Can you guarantee I will be number one?

No, and nobody can. What we can do is tell you which searches are realistically winnable for your business, and go after those.

Do blogs really help?

Good ones do. Thin ones actively hurt now. Two well-written posts a month beats twenty padded ones, and that has been true since Google's helpful content updates.

How will I know it is working?

Search Console shows impressions before it shows clicks. If impressions are climbing at three months, it is working, even if the phone has not started ringing yet.
